The former Ford Brentwood HQ has been identified by Brentwood Borough Council as an area for residential development.
A Master Plan has been created to ensure that the development partners can bring forward proposals that are complementary and coherent.
Fairview New Homes will be bringin forward 151 residential units comprising 80 homes, 71 flats and some employment/community space (B1 and D1 Use Class)

This online consultation aims to ensure the local community is able to have their say in advance of a planning application being submitted to Brentwood Borough Council. As we want local input to be fully considered and addressed.

The proposed residential development seeks to create a variety of homes within the area. The site will be divided into a Northern Portion and a Southern Portion with Eagle Way dividing the two plots.

Fairview New Homes will be delivering 151 residential units which include 80 homes and 71 flats as well as some employment/community space at their development on Eagle Way.
However, the development proposals are underpinned by a single masterplan for the area. This masterplan incorporates a number of development partners including Fairview New Homes, Brentwood Borough Council and Land Charter Homes. The masterplan ensures that all aspects of the development are coordinated and can be brought forward in phases that complement one another.
The appication we are presenting is not for the entire Master Plan. Only for the section Fairview New Homes will be delivering (known as Site 1B in the Master Plan). The site has a total area of 11.3 hectares, including 1.78 hectares of green belt land. It is located on Eagle Way and is in close proximity to Warley and Brentwood Town Centre, only 1.2 miles to Brentwood Train Station.
The area was originally home to Warley Barracks who vacated in 1958. Part of the site was then sold to Ford in 1961, and the Barracks were cleared leaving the Essex Regiment Chapel (Grade II listed); the Depot Officers Mess (Blenheim House now a TA Centre); the Officers Mess (now Marillac Nursing Home) and one of the regimental gyms (Keys Hall).
Ford used the site as a Corporate Headquarters building for over 50 years before announcing in 2018 its plans to close. The Council land to the north of the site was part leased to Ford for parking, part used as a garage and part used as a depot.
